Egypt’s startup ecosystem had grown significantly, but the community remained fragmented and difficult to navigate for founders not already plugged into established networks. Tays’ founding team had run into the same problem firsthand while studying abroad in Europe — general-purpose platforms like LinkedIn weren’t regionally specific and lacked the personal touch needed to build a real professional network. Meeting other entrepreneurs depended heavily on attending events, having the right introductions, or being part of specific communities. There was no dedicated digital space for founder-to-founder relationships.

WebOps built a mobile application providing a dedicated digital space for entrepreneurs to connect: profile creation, peer discovery, direct messaging, and community interaction, powered by a machine-learning algorithm that matches people based on mutual professional interests and goals — purpose-built for founder-to-founder relationships outside of events and formal networks.

WebOps gave Tays a working product built around a channel that did not depend on geography, event calendars, or pre-existing introductions — designed to let founders discover and connect with peers building in adjacent spaces. The app itself did not reach public launch, but the product build underpinned Tays’ pitch to investors: the startup went on to raise a seven-figure pre-seed round from angel investors across the Egyptian ecosystem, including backers from Google, RE/MAX Middle East, and O7 Therapy.
