GS1
Custom ERP systems, operational workflow automation, and DevOps infrastructure that took GS1 Egypt’s member registration, barcode issuance, and compliance operations from paper trails and disconnected tools to one unified system built to run at national scale.

GS1The Challenge
GS1 Egypt issues and manages barcode standards for thousands of Egyptian businesses — a mandate that touches everything from small retailers to national supply chains. But the systems behind that mandate hadn’t kept pace with its scale. Member registrations, barcode issuance, and compliance tracking ran through manual processes and disconnected tools, with inter-departmental coordination handled largely ad hoc. For a national authority, that gap between responsibility and infrastructure meant slower turnaround for the businesses depending on GS1, and less visibility for GS1 itself into how its own operations were performing.
What We Built
WebOps built the technical backbone of GS1 Egypt’s operations: custom internal ERP systems, operational workflow automation, and the DevOps infrastructure to run it all reliably. The system now handles member registration, barcode issuance, and compliance management end to end, with inter-departmental coordination built into the workflow itself rather than left to email threads and manual follow-up.
The Impact
GS1 Egypt moved from fragmented, manual coordination to a unified digital infrastructure built to operate at national scale. Processing times dropped, internal workflows became trackable and auditable, and the organization gained the operational foundation to keep pace with its mandate — directly supporting the broader digitization of Egypt’s commercial and supply chain ecosystem.
